Profile

The Computer Science Department is headed by Dr.T. Anuradha, M.Sc.,M.S.(Pilani),M.Tech.,Ph.D. This department believes that "Applied Knowledge is Power" and has been providing the students with the latest Hardware and Software resources. The JKC Computer Science Labs have one of the Finest Computing Environments, with a large number of Desktops, world class Servers with  Local Area Network and access to High Speed Internet. LCD PROJECTOR is being used as Teaching-Aid. Handicam is being used to record student activities(seminars etc) and provide the student with a copy to review his/her presentation skills. The Computer Labs are available to students from 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. It represents the major attraction of J.K.C College.

The Computer centre is spaciously housed in a total area of 2350 Sq.ft. It is two storied, air conditioned, centrally located and functionally designed building. It is equipped with the State-of-the-art computing resources worth above Rs.1.5 Crore to cater the academic activities of the institute.  JKCC's Computing infrastructure offers a truly heterogeneous range of Hardware and Software platforms for the students to appreciate and gain wide-ranging experience.

The Institute has Four Network Servers operating on Windows 2003 server, Windows 2008 Server and Linux [ Open Suse ] platforms . More than 200 P.C's are running on Windows 7 / XP platforms with other latest Software.

Student Projects:

  1. Mr. Y. Pavan Kumar M.C.A. and his team members developed a project for evaluating student feedback.
  2. Bhargavi & Durga MCA (2007-2010) developed a project for Stock Verification in UG Library. Each got a prize amount of Rs.1700/-per each member.
  3. BCA students have developed Inter departmental project title Eagle Eye in order to maintain the student attendance and Examination Marks .
  4. Percentage of students doing projects in collaboration with industries / institutes -7%
  5. Mr. K.Venkatesh, Mr.M.Rama Mohan Rao Miss M.Lavanya & Miss.N.Aswani, MCA(2011-2014) developed a Library Management Information System for the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple,Brundavan gardens, Guntur.

  1. The Department has sophisticated, well-equipped labs. It has also permanent, wellqualified, and well-experienced staff.
  2. The Department takes care of the holistic development of the students.
  3. To enhance the technical skills of the students the labs are open throughout the year. It is striking to note that the services can be utilized even beyond the regular college timings.
  4. The department plays a crucial role in conducting campus drives.
  5. In order to ensure better placements, campus recruitment training and soft skills classes have been organized by eminent resource persons.
  6. The department library has a very good collection of books, CD’s and video lectures.
  7. The department is always in the forefront in organizing basic computer training programs to the teaching, non-teaching staff and non-computer science students.
  8. The supporting staff of the department attends to the trouble shooting of the systems of the other departments and the office. It also provides some IT-related services like maintaining College Website.
  9. With the impetus given by the department, a good number of students presented papers at various national conferences or seminars.
  10. The Strength of the department has been further evidenced from the following outstanding achievements:

With the Institutional support to chalk out many academic initiatives, the department has many opportunities to develop further.

  2. There is a dearth for a research center which can develop and cater to the demands / needs like developing Research Projects.
