  1. Sri. S. R. K. PRASAD :

    * Worked on the Ecafloristic Studies on the Flora of Guntur and its environs with special reference to cohort Rosales with the assistance of UGC under Minor Research Project.

  2. Sri. N. SARATHCHANDRA NAIDU:

    * Worked on "Studies on Psedomonas Viticola, the incitant of bacterial leaf spot of grapevine". This work has carriedout under F I P.

  • Maintenance of good Museum
  • Maintenance of Herbal garden
  • Maintenance of Herbarium
  • The department has good library and reference section with internet facility.
  • Importance of medicinal plants and their products has been explained through plants exhibition to the students of near by schools, colleges and people of Guntur.
  • The Present Director, P.G.Courses belongs to botany department worked as Principal during the period 2004-2007.

Opportunities Of The Depatrement:

  • There is considerable demand for certain courses like seed production Technology, Medical transcription, Horticulture etc.
  • The department has a very good infrastructural support to carry out the courses and the research.

Challanges of The Departement

  • Introducing restructured programmes in the light of changing needs of society and placements to enhance the enrollment of the students.
  • To draw students to the basic science by offering need-based certificate courses
  • To enage the members of faculty in research.
  • To get research projects of reputable institutes like DBT

Future Plans Of The Departement
